What to send for a quick selection
The engineer selects the series and length from six inputs. Send everything you already know; what you don’t know, just say so. You can enter this in the “Task” field in the form above.

| 2 | Coolant mode and heat source | The output depends on the mode. M/C 65 at 1500 mm gives 445 W at 85/75, 293 W at 65/55 and 146 W at 45/35 (natural convection, 1 heat exchanger). A heat pump usually runs at 45/35. If you don’t know the mode — say whether it’s a boiler or a heat pump. |
| 3 | Screed depth or floor stage | A casing 65 to 120 mm high must fit into the screed. If the floor is already finished, the choice is between FRH on legs and skirting BR. Before pouring, it’s worth going through the list of questions about the screed. |

How an engineer’s selection differs from the calculator
The calculator gives an approximate answer and does not replace a design calculation: its coefficients are still confirmed by engineers. What you send per the list above, the engineer calculates from the manufacturer’s output tables. What if I don’t know the coolant mode?
Write what heats the house: a gas boiler or a heat pump. The mode can be checked with the designer or the boiler-room installer. A heat pump usually runs at 45/35, and for it the figures are taken from a different row of the table.
Can I get a selection without drawings?
For an approximate selection, the glazing dimensions, the floor stage and the coolant mode are enough. Drawings are needed when the size and number of units are built into the design.
